Figurine Display April 2015

My Devil Homura finally arrived a few days ago, and initially I planned to display her along with all my other Homura figurines, but I still have the Miko version Homura figurine on pre-order with expected release/delivery May 2015. So rather than waiting, I decided to display a selection of my Homura figurines with my Madoka figurines.

Unlike last time, I did not use flash on my phone camera, and the pictures came out pretty bad.

Devil Homura

Devil Homura

At $200 AUD, boy was she expensive! I think she cost a little more than what I paid for Ultimate Madoka. But not only is Homura my favourite character from Puella Magi Madoka Magica, I love the outstretched wings which I did have some trouble putting together. Normally I get my figurines from AmiAmi, but Devil Homura was only available through certain sellers, so I was forced to purchase from RightStuf! and since it was my first time purchasing something from them, they requested that I send them a copy of my driver’s licence and debit card to prove that I’m a legitimate buyer. Anyway, it was worth it in the end :D

This was another exclusive item that I had to buy from RightStuf! and being 1/7 scale, Timeshift Homura was also a little more expensive than the usual 1/8 scale figurines I buy. Although I already had two other scale Homura figurines, I just had to get this one too because the pose is nice and the base even nicer.

This Homura was part of a set of figurines based on a promotional image for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It was one of the first Homura figurines to be announced/made so I snapped her up.

Are you seeing double? When they released the Puella Magi Madoka Magica compilation movies, Good Smile Company released a few figurines which are essentially identical to the first set of figurines, but with a few slight differences. In this case, the GSC “You Are Not Alone” version Homura differs from the original GSC Homura in that she wears a red ribbon, and comes with different accessories, such as the pictured bow, and not pictured are Homura’s red glasses, bomb/grenade, and golf club. The original GSC Homura did not come with a bow, so again, I just had to buy this, even though the pose is identical to the original GSC Homura. Speaking of the bow, today was the first time I put her on display (I can’t believe I forgot about her when I had my “first-time-out-of-the-box” display), and I don’t know if I was doing something wrong, but it was near impossible to get it in Homura’s hand. I had to use a lot of strength to shove it into her hand and in the process scratched some of the plastic and paint T.T

Since Homura was part of a set, I decided to collect the whole set including this Madoka (plus Mami, Sayaka, and Kyouko).

Movie version Madoka

Madoka

I already had this Madoka as part of my previous display, but I’m keeping her on display because she fits the theme of my current display. Basically she’s based on this promotional image for the Puella Madoka Magica movies. Unlike the series set of figurines, I don’t think any other figurines based on this image were made.

Ah~ such a beautiful figurine, and a much sought after figurine too. The downside of an intricate figurine is that she is tricky to assemble and disassemble. She also comes with a flaming bow, but last time I had her on display, I accidentally bumped her then the bow fell and broke. My brother repaired the bow, but given how top-heavy it is, I don’t dare use it again, which is sad because she looks so much better with it. So I’m stuck with using the non-flaming bow.
