The second part of the Fate Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works adaptation by ufotable will air later this year, so time to box up my Saber figurines and display a different set of figurines.
I had been planning to display my various Homura figurines, including demon-Homura which was originally meant to be delivered end of November/December 2014, but has now been delayed until end of February. I also have miko-Homura on pre-order, which is expected to be delivered end of May 2015.
So for this month’s “theme”, I have decided to display the figurines that have never been displayed before. From left to right:
– Madoka Kaname from Puella Magi Madoka Magica
– Hana, Yuki and Ame from Wolf Children
– Shiro from No Game No Life
– Rytlock Brimstone from Guild Wars 2
Again, pictures were taken using my Samsung Galaxy Ace 3. This time the pictures were taken during daytime with flash, which I think made the pictures come out a little better, but the flash gave the figurines an unnatural looking shadow that looks like blur.
Madoka Kaname
If you haven’t guessed by now, Homura Akemi is my favourite character from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I don’t really care too much for the other characters, but although I already had two Madoka Kaname figurines (one normal Madoka, and one Ultimate Madoka), I picked this one up too because I love the pose and the fact that she’s carrying a bow and arrow (I’m a sucker for archers).
Hana, Yuki and Ame
I watched the movie “Wolf Children” when it screened at Luna Leederville cinema as part of Reel Anime, and like Mamoru Hosoda’s previous two movies (“The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and “Summer Wars”), I greatly enjoyed it, and I’m looking forward to his next movie “The Boy and the Beast” which is due to be released later this year. So when they opened pre-orders for this gorgeous figurine of Hana, Yuki and Ame, I snapped it up right away! The figurine is based on the poster image for the movie, and without the beautiful green landscape in the background, I must admit the figurine seems kind of plain.
Shiro
Not only is “No Game No Life” one of my favourite series of 2014 (and possible of all time), I just love the long multicoloured hair. I had heard that many other people had issues with losing the very tiny chess piece that Shiro holds in her hand. The figurine comes with two chess pieces, a black king and a white pawn. Initially I planned to display her with the white pawn because Shiro = white, but looking at the figurine, I decided that the contrasting black king would look better in Shiro’s pale hand.
Rytlock Brimstone
Now for something a little different. This is the only figurine I own of a fictional character that is not from an anime series. Rytlock Brimstone is from the MMORPG Guild Wars 2. He came as part of the limited edition of the game which I pre-ordered prior to the launch of Guild Wars 2. It also came with a tin containing other cool stuff such as a book, soundtrack CD and mini posters. And the game itself of course!
On the topic of Guild Wars 2, I just love this song from the soundtrack: Fear Not This Night
