Figurine Display November 2014

It has been 6 months since I changed the figurines I have on display, so it’s time for a change. Plus, leaving figurines on display for too long leaves them prone to getting more dirty and dusty, plus for some figurines that are positioned precariously on one leg, extended display increases the chance of leaning.

With the Ufotable adaptation of Fate Stay Night currently airing, I thought it would be appropriate to display my collection of Saber figurines.

Saber collection

I used my Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 to take these photos, which doesn’t do the beauty of these figurines justice.

On display I have (from left to right):

Fate/Unlimited Codes – Saber Lily – Figma #SP-004 (Max Factory)

Saber Lily

This came as a “bonus” with the limited edition of the Fate Unlimited Codes PS2 game. Althought I did not have a PS2 (and still do not have one), I bought the game to get this figurine :3 One day, I will track down a Japanese PS2 just so I can play the game.

Fate/Stay Night – Saber – 1/7 – Triumphant Excalibur (Good Smile Company)

Triumphant Excalibur Saber

If you haven’t guessed by now, Saber is my favourite character from Fate Stay Night. I wanted a figurine of “classic” Saber, so when Good Smile Company did a re-release of the Triumphant Excalibur figurine, I jumped on it (I missed the first release because it was back when I was not yet ordering figurines online).

Fate/Zero – Saber – 1/8 – Motored Cuirassier (Good Smile Company)

Saber

This is my favourite Saber figurine, and possibly amongst my favourite figurines of all time. When I pre-ordered her, Fate Zero had only just started airing, and the scene in which Saber and the motorcycle appear had not yet been shown. But this was such an awesome figurine, I must have it! I pre-ordered it as soon as I could. I had so much trouble re-assembling her for display, the left foot has a slot that goes on top of a metal rod, but it just wasn’t lining up properly. I think I managed to get her posed correctly in the end. I love how detailed the motor cycle is, but with that came a hefty price tag, but it’s worth it because she’s just so damn gorgeous.

Good Smile Company produced a short video featuring this figurine:

Fate/Hollow Ataraxia – Saber – 1/8 – New Costume Ver. (Kotobukiya)

Saber

I bought this at Wai-con, it was one of the earlier additions to my figurine collection. Fate Hollow Ataraxia is a sequel to Fate Stay Night, both are visual novels but I am yet to read/play either of them. Still, Saber is so pretty~
